Boge oil flooded rotary screw compressor at glazing manufacturer

BOGE Compressed Air Systems, in combination with one of its Platinum Partners, was tasked with supplying and installing a completely new compressed air system for a high-end glazing manufacturer in the North West of England. The manufacturer has moved to new larger premises and required an air system that could operate 24/07 with no downtime.

The old set up consisted of two factories on one site, so to prepare for the move, data logging of the original two system’s air demands where taken, added together and then increased to include extra capacity for the expansion.

To gain maximum efficiency, two BOGE oil- flooded rotary screw compressors were specified. These will be used in rotation, running on alternate weeks, and providing back up on the weeks in between.

A 2,000 litre BOGE air receiver provides a large reservoir of compressed air to ensure the air pressure is maintained at peak times. From there, the air passes through a BOGE fridge drier and filters to remove moisture and contaminants.

Overview

  • Predicted annual energy saving around 35% (£17,000)
  • Low energy tax allowance against IE4 motor investment
  • Higher performance from latest technology
  • Higher productivity
  • No downtime
